Test Results

tests_and_results.jpgResults of blood tests usually take 2-3 days, X-rays normally take up to 10 days, cervical smears can take up to 4 weeks and allergy testing can take up to 4 weeks. The doctor or nurse will advise as to whether there is any action to be taken.

The receptionist can inform you if you need to see the doctor again, but are not clinically trained so cannot give you any advice over the telephone. If a follow-up is necessary you will be contacted in writing via a postal letter.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

You can ring for test results between 12 and 6pm, 7 days a week as this is the quieter period during the day
